Open Evening - 13th October 2022

Introduction for Parents / Carers

Introduction Letter for Students

We would like to introduce ourselves as Mr Rogers and Mr Wilson, and we have the pleasure of being the Co-Headteachers of the Duchess’s Community High School. We are writing to you to tell you how excited we are to be hosting an ‘open evening’ at school on the 13th of October (5.00pm-7.30pm).

It is a very exciting time when you start to think about joining a Secondary school but we also know that it can be very daunting. Don’t worry, we have a great team of staff waiting to welcome you to the school including Buddy the dog! The aim of the open evening is to show you some of the amazing staff, facilities and subjects on offer at DCHS.

You will be coming to visit us at a special time; there is so much going on in school at the moment to make this a school where children want to be, where staff want to work and where community works.

We don’t think that you want to come to an open evening and then sit in a hall listening to us instead of visiting classrooms - so this year, we are hosting a truly ‘open’ evening and you are free to walk around the school, view some of our school dinners, and talk to students and staff about what it is like to study here.

If the adults at home would like to hear from us regarding the experience you will have here, they can look around this website, or if they have social media, they may want to follow us on twitter (@dchsalnwick) to find out more about what is happening at the moment.

Good luck for the rest of Autumn Term and we hope to see you very soon to show you what it means to be part of #TeamDCHS

Yours sincerely

Mr Rogers & Mr Wilson
