We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work closely between the SEND and wider curriculum departments to improve engagement and outcomes for pupils with SEND in their literacy and numeracy skills, with a focus on KS3. This person will work within the SEND team providing support for our highest need pupils, but will also work closely with the English and Maths departments to develop and deliver programmes of support and intervention for pupils with literacy and numeracy barriers to learning. We also anticipate them working with our wider teaching team to support more directly with student engagement and progress in these core skill areas. They will be expected to attend department meetings with relevant teams and be involved in data review and planning next steps with the SEND team. The successful candidate will work with students within the classroom but also in small groups and 1:1 intervention contexts. Previous experience of numeracy intervention packages and the Read Write Inc programme is desirable but not essential.

You will be joining a school that has a vision to be an educational centre of excellence based on the principle that effective relationships are the key to positive outcomes. The staff team has a student centred approach and we are committed to staff education programmes for everyone to continue their learning journeys. We want to invest in successful applicants and help them progress through their own career. We are looking for candidates who share the same values as us as we continue to grow our team.
