Students

A wide variety of activities are on offer to students. Music, Drama and PE have a local and regional reputation for high standards and participation. As a Music College, our students perform regularly both to the local community and beyond. In PE, many of our students excel in both team and individual sports – some have gone on to win county and national honours. Drama productions at the Alnwick Playhouse are well known and well received.

Students also get involved with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and are always willing to help out in local schools and with community events – whenever and wherever they can.

During 2005/6 the School Council has been ‘re-energised’ to become much more of a focus for the ’Student Voice’ commenting on school policies and recommending activities and actions to benefit students at the school.

‘Staying on’ in to Sixth Form
The majority of our year 11 students (almost 75%) ‘stay on’ to join our Sixth Form. There is a wide choice of A Level subjects and our choice of ‘vocational’ courses is expanding. More information is available in our Sixth Form or from the Sixth Form Management team.
