Mission Statement

"That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong." -F. Scott Fitzgerald

In English and Drama at DCHS we wish you to explore the world beyond the classroom through an understanding of the power of performance, language and literature. We want you to become deep thinkers, outstanding performers, passionate debaters and confident writers. We want you to be excited by the worlds authors create and have the confidence to create imaginative worlds of your own.

We want you to experiment with language and understand its significance in communication and in your future. Together we want to foster a life-long love of reading and of the written word and the power we have to move others with what we write, what we speak and what we think.
