Trip to the London Law Courts

Trip to the London Law Courts

A wide and diverse range of extra-curricular activities are provided at the Duchess’s Community High School, indeed it would be almost impossible to list them all. Recent examples include:
Easter Crammer for GCSE students
History Study Tour to the First World War battlefields of Belgium.
Hockey Tour – Italy 2007 – Verona, Padova, Venice
School Choir Trip to Canada
School Production – West Side Story
Alnwick/Lagny Youth Exchange
Politics and Law Trip to London

In addition to the above examples of activity we have strong links with the County Youth Service, who have a base on school site and with local Youth Activity providers such as the Gallery Youth Project, Alnwick Community Centre and North Sunderland and Seahouses Development Trust.

A number of our students are involved in peer tutoring programmes where they use their own skills in a range of activities to work with students in Middle and First Schools. This has been organised through our Out of School Hours Coordinator Mark Carr.
