Extended Schools - Extended Services

Delivering extended services in and around schools forms a cornerstone of the Government’s ten year childcare strategy and is critical to the delivery of the Every Child Matters Agenda.

Offering Extended Services through Extended Schools is primarily about building partnerships around young people, their families and local communities. This collaboration enables young people to succeed and achieve their educational and personal potential.

The Duchess’s Community High School is working with the Alnwick Partnership of Schools and with a range of agencies to work together ”for the benefit of the child”. We believe that significant progress has been made in “joining up” services and provision for children, young people and our broader community.

As a result of these developments the Duchess’ s Community High School now offers a wide range of services and activities, often beyond the school day, which help to meet the needs of children, young people, parents and the wider community.

A range of “core” services can be accessed through the Duchess’s Community High School.
